As promised in my previous post, I managed to make it out to the grand opening of this store ysesterday, and I must say, it was outstanding!  Some of the coolest things I noticed were:

The $10 MILLION dollar screen that ran the length of the store on both sides.  I am told it is powered by 7 computers running the new and highly praised Windows 7 operating system.

The “surfaces,” which are basically touch screen table mats that can be used exclusively in commercial settings for now.  Imagine a 1/4 inch thick computer monitor that lays flat on any table, and you control it with your fingertips.  Minority Report anyone?  Plan on dropping a hefty $35K on these bad boys!

Windows 7…looked a lot like Vista to me, but I am told it is like a highly upgraded version of it.  This meaning it is much faster, and has tweaks making it more user friendly.  Unfortunately, the store was PACKED and I did not get much time to play around with the system, but the short time I was able to, I did notice it was much faster than Vista.  Other than that, It was visually pleasing and familiar (looked very similar to Vista).

One more cool thing about the store; you can purchase pretty much ANYTHING Microsoft (Windows 7, laptops, Zunes, PCs, xBox, xBox games, etc.).  ALSO, if you purchase a computer here, it will be comparable to a Best Buy/Fry’s Electronics price, MINUS THE FREEWARE and BS that they load their computers up with.  For me, it is a no brainer to shop here over retail electronic stores!

The only thing I missed was Ashley Tisdale…I don’t know how I am still alive!

Like everyone else, I have my hobbies.

Mine include music, so I like to take a break from real estate, sit back and listen/play.  I’m in a jazzy mood tonight, and I have a feeling you will be too after listening to this piece…one of my favorites performed by the late Cannonball Adderley.  They are right in the pocket, making this song FEEL extra good.

UPDATE!!  GO SEE MY LATEST POST with pictures and commentary from the GRAND OPENING, Microsoft Store Grand Opening in Scottsdale, AZ

So as I’m sure many people have been reading and hearing, Microsoft is due to open its first store ever inside Scottsdale Fashion Square this Thursday October 22, 2009. I will surely be there for the grand opening!

One thing I have noticed: Microsoft is becoming more and more like Apple, and vise versa. Am I the only one noticing this?





Top 3 [Not so Pricey] Phoenix Pads, 2nd ed.

Week 2 of the [not so pricey] list!  I started this series a couple weeks ago, as sort of a spin off of the “priciest homes” segment in the AZ Republic.  So, instead of posting just the most expensive homes that sold this week, I tell you the best deals in that upper stratosphere of housing ($3MIL+) based on price per square foot, location and lot size, and personal taste.  However, since the high end $3MIL+ market isn’t moving too fast (more like a snail’s pace), I am going to juggle between 3MIL+ and $1-3MIL.  Without further adieu, I present this week’s Top 3 [Not so Pricey] Phoenix Pads, $1-3 Million style.

4235980 STATS– built in 2008 on a .81 acre lot.  6,716 sq ft, 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, heated pool and spa, main house + 700 sq ft guest casita, and a great location near 64th St and Shea in the 85253 zip code.  Sold for $1.39MIL, or $206.97 per sq ft on September 30, 2009.

4231195 STATS-built in 1975 on a .9 acre lot.  5,599 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, in ground spa, diving pool overlooking the city, on a superb mountainside lot basically on Camelback Mountain.  Organic contemporary design with outstanding 180 degree views through walls of glass.  This beauty sold for $1.15 Million or $205.39/sq ft on October 5, 2009.

4234192 STATS– built in 1992 on 1.02 acres.  5,000 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, heated pool and spa, entertainer’s backyard with built in BBQ, right on the Camelback Country Club Golf Course.  Architecture and materials are typical for the time period, but they don’t look bad, and the location sets it off!  Golf course lot near the heart of Scottsdale!  Sold for $208/sq ft totaling $1.04 Million on September 30, 2009.

I’m in Gila Bend right now at the McDonalds on my way to Rocky Point! I haven’t been payin attention, but how is the real estate market is down there?

I will be pondering it while I enjoy my Dos Equis most definitely.





What’s that I hear? yes..it’s a music post

I recently re-thought my whole blog’s purpose and message and came up with it’s current title “ReMyousEstate”-Real Estate, Music, and YOU.  I am passionate about all three things, so it only seemed natural to mash them into 1 blog.  On a side note, I will be tying them together here in the very near future (I have some stuff in the works that will blow your minds) so stay tuned, because you make up the most important part of my blog!

Back to the topic at hand, I realize I haven’t done a single music post!  So let’s go back, follow the yellow brick road…

I was introduced to a band recently, who I think everyone should listen to, but only if you like great music and tasty grooves.  The band is Soulive.  I have only had the chance to buy two of their albums, but so far I am very pleased.  (albums I have are Next, and Breakout).  From these two albums, I hear cues from all genres and artists like Joshua Redman, Tower of Power, The Roots, and so on…basically, what I’m trying to say is you have to bob your head when you hear these guys.  If you don’t, I would see a doctor because you might not be human.  Here is a little taste for you, so crank up your volume, hit play, and make sure your neck is thoroughly stretched.

I just read a good post on The Phoenix Real Estate Guy dealing with the issue.  I highly recommend you click that link (after you finish my quick 2 cents) and read it if you are a renter or anyone who is dealing with the situation.  The thing that really got me going about this post is actually an answer to a question I’ve been asked countless times, and had no answer to. until now…
